Editorial Policy

Last updated: September 3, 2026

This page explains how content on education.kalmausam.in is planned, written, checked, and corrected. We publish it because readers of health content deserve to know how the sausage is made — and because our standards are a commitment, not a decoration.

Our Mission

To explain how Americans pay for and qualify for mental health care — insurance coverage, the federal parity law, denied claims and appeals, disability benefits, and workplace and patient rights in plain English, accurately, for people who need to understand these systems at a stressful moment in their lives — without selling them anything.

Sourcing Standards

Articles are built on official and neutral sources:

  • Federal agencies and programs: NIMH, SAMHSA, HHS, CMS, Medicare.gov, SSA, DOL, and their official publications
  • State agencies: Departments of Insurance, Medicaid programs, Protection & Advocacy organizations
  • Established nonprofits and professional bodies, and peer-reviewed or official clinical resources such as MedlinePlus

We do not cite — and do not trust — treatment-center marketing pages, “best of” listicles, law-firm client-acquisition blogs, or affiliate content. Each article carries citations to its key sources so readers can verify claims themselves.

How Articles Are Produced

  1. Topic selection. We choose questions real people actually face — the letter they received, the program they were referred to, the deadline they are staring at.
  2. Research. The writer works from primary sources: the statute, the agency handbook, the official program page — not from other blogs.
  3. Drafting. Articles are written at an everyday reading level, define every acronym, separate what is known from what varies, and label all cost figures and examples as illustrative.
  4. Review. Before publication, each article is checked against its sources for factual accuracy, and against our compliance rules: no advice, no diagnosis, no lead generation, no naming or recommending providers, and safe-messaging standards for any mention of suicide or self-harm.
  5. Dating. Every article displays when it was published or last reviewed.

Updates and Corrections

Rules change. When an underlying law, program, or figure changes materially, we update the article and its review date. When we get something wrong, we fix it promptly and note material corrections on the article. Correction requests go to support@kalmausam.in — tell us the article, the statement, and if possible the source that shows the error. We acknowledge correction requests and take them seriously; being corrected by a reader is a good day, not a bad one.

Independence and Advertising

The Site earns revenue from programmatic display advertising (including Google AdSense). That funding model has exactly one connection to our editorial work: it pays for it. Specifically:

  • Advertisers have no input into topics, drafts, or published articles, and no advance access to any of them.
  • We accept no sponsored content, paid placements, or affiliate commissions.
  • We do not recommend, rank, or review providers, facilities, insurers, or platforms — so there is nothing for a commercial interest to buy.
  • Ads are labeled as ads by the ad platform and are never disguised as content.

What We Will Never Publish

  • Lead-generation forms, “free case evaluations,” or “check if you qualify” funnels
  • Individual medical, legal, or insurance advice
  • Rankings or endorsements of treatment centers, insurers, law firms, or therapy platforms
  • Fear-based urgency framing around deadlines or benefits
  • Content about suicide or self-harm that violates safe-messaging standards — methods and means are never described, and crisis resources appear on every article

Reader Trust

We keep the relationship simple: we publish careful explanations, advertising keeps the lights on, and nothing about you is sold. If anything on the Site seems to fall short of this policy, we want to hear about it: support@kalmausam.in.
