Privacy Policy

Effective date: September 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you visit education.kalmausam.in (“the Site,” “we,” “us”), how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to this website only, not to any third-party site we link to.

The short version: we do not ask you to create an account, we do not collect names or contact details unless you email us, and we do not sell reader information. Like almost every ad-supported website, the Site uses cookies and similar technologies so that third-party advertising partners — principally Google AdSense — can serve and measure ads. The details are below.

Information We Collect

Information you give us

If you email us at support@kalmausam.in, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to respond to you and keep it only as long as needed for that purpose.

Information collected automatically (log files)

Our hosting provider, like virtually all web hosts, keeps standard server log files. These record IP addresses, browser type and version, Internet Service Provider, date and time stamps, referring and exit pages, and click counts. This data is not linked to anything that identifies you personally. It is used for security, spam prevention, diagnosing technical problems, and understanding aggregate traffic patterns.

Cookies and web beacons

The Site uses cookies — small text files stored by your browser — and similar technologies such as web beacons and pixels. Some are set by us (for example, caching and consent cookies that make the Site work), and some are set by third parties (for example, advertising cookies). Our Cookie Policy lists the categories in detail and explains how to manage them.

Advertising: Google AdSense and Third-Party Vendors

The Site is supported by display advertising served by Google AdSense and, potentially, other Google-certified advertising partners.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.
  • You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of many other third-party vendors’ use of cookies for personalized advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices (US) or www.youronlinechoices.eu (EU).
  • How Google uses information from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to measure the effectiveness of their campaigns and to personalize ads. These technologies receive your IP address and information about your browser and the pages you visit on this Site. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the cookies used by third-party advertisers.

Consent for Visitors in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Where required by law, visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message before personalized advertising cookies are set, using a Google-certified consent management platform. You can decline personalized ads and still use the Site; you may then be shown non-personalized ads, which use cookies only for frequency capping, aggregate reporting, and fraud prevention. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time through the consent link or settings described in the Cookie Policy.

How We Use Information

  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site (log data, caching cookies)
  • To display and measure advertising that funds the Site (third-party advertising cookies)
  • To respond to messages you send us (your email address and message)
  • To comply with legal obligations

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, our legal bases are: consent (personalized advertising cookies), legitimate interests (site security, aggregate analytics, non-personalized advertising), and legal obligation (where we must retain or disclose information by law).

Your Rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR/UK GDPR)

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we hold about you; to object to or restrict processing; to data portability; to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing; and to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority. In practice, the only personal data we ourselves are likely to hold is an email you sent us — advertising data is held by the advertising partners, whose own tools (linked above) let you exercise choices directly.

If you are a California resident (CCPA/CPRA)

You have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined in California law. Cookie-based advertising may constitute “sharing” under the CPRA; you can opt out through the consent and opt-out tools described above and in the Cookie Policy. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes requiring a right-to-limit notice, and we will not discriminate against you for exercising any right.

To exercise any right, email support@kalmausam.in with the subject line “Privacy request.” We may need to verify the request came from you. We respond within the time required by applicable law.

Children’s Privacy

The Site publishes content for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@kalmausam.in and we will delete it promptly.

A Note on Health Privacy

Reading articles about mental health here does not create a medical record, and we never ask for health information. We are not a covered entity under HIPAA, and nothing you read or send us is protected health information. Please do not email us details of your own diagnosis or treatment — we do not need them and cannot advise on them.

Data Retention and Security

Server logs are retained by our hosting provider on a rolling basis and then deleted. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle the correspondence. The Site is served over HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we limit what we collect in the first place — the best protection for data is not holding it.

Third-Party Links

Articles link to external sites — mostly government and nonprofit sources. Their privacy practices are their own; this policy does not cover them, and we encourage you to read theirs.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send “Do Not Track” signals. There is no accepted standard for responding to them, and the Site does not currently respond to DNT signals; opt-out preference signals recognized under state law (such as the Global Privacy Control) are honored where the law requires.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Site, the law, or our advertising partners change. The effective date at the top always reflects the latest version, and material changes will be visible on this page.
